Bass Lake. Aug 2020. Closteria is an algae that is divided into two hemi-cells. It moves by secretion of mucilage. Note the vesicles at the terminae that contains crystals of barium sulfate. The function of these, if there is one, is unknown. The vesicles in the substance of the cell are pyrenoids where CO2 is converted to carbohydrate.
